Radiological inspection of the Ojcowski National Park
The aim of the project is to inspect the radiological situation in the area of the Ojcowski National Park. We plan to measure:
Gamma radiation dose distribution,
The concentrations of radioactive isotopes (natural: K-40 potassium, Ra-226 radium and Th-228 and artificial isotope Cs-137) in soil samples,
Radon concentrations (Rn-222) in ground air and water samples,
Radon concentrations (Rn-222) in caves and other sites in the Ojcowski National Park.
The project is implemented in cooperation with the Henryk Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Scientific Club of Student Physicists of the Jagiellonian University.
The project is headed by dr hab. Krzysztof Kozak from the Laboratory of Radiometric Expertise IFJ PAN.
